Yep. It's not rocket science. You need to burn more calories than you consume and eating lean meats and vegetables is a good way to do it

I surmise, you're sneaking in a slice of cake or three, along with donuts; hence the weight gain, and I highly doubt it's muscle you're gaining.

I suggest, tightening up on your diet with complex carbs ( no simple carbs) and lean protein, don't drink your calories ( protein shakes, sugared coffee, milk, juice, etc.) just plain water is great. And yeah....eat a lot of veggies.

With motivation, a little exercise and mainly diet, 10lbs can be achieved by years end

Go on a juice fast for 7-10 days, beginning Sunday. You'll easily drop 10 lbs during this time, and really look incredibly healthy. Then finish out the year doing a moderate amount of exercise each day. Eat organically, plenty of veggies, greens, fruit, brown rice, chicken breast, miso soup, twig tea, and so forth. By NYE, you will look like an entirely new person.
