No, because I didn't see them treat me a certain way when I was bigger. Most of the time somebody who is overweight thinks they are treated a certain way, it's because the overweight person has a chip on their shoulder to begin with. I for one am a happy-go-lucky person and joke about my phatness. I just don't care what other people think. But I've been with other phatties who let it get to them and then they start to see "out of nowhere" a problem with that person, as if they were making fun of them.

I have been down to 125 and I have gotten up to 275. At 125, I was considered "fine" and had a lot of hangers-on, that when I started to gain weight, slowly but surely went away. But the friends I made when I was phat are lifelong treasures that are still around today.

I sure got a lot of male attention at 140 that I didn't get at 180.

But day to day interaction with coworkers or retail workers or friends/family? Not much difference.

I have to imagine that this is going to be different if you are talking about someone who lost 100+ lbs, or someone who couldn't ambulate etc.

People remarked on the initial weight loss and I probably get a few more glances, but that's about it.

The only people who treated me differently were my parents. My father always gave me a hard time about my weight and was happy to see me, in his words, finally taking care of myself instead of being a fat cow. My mother was the opposite, its comical really. She said I looked disgustingly anorexic and every she sees me she shakes her head, comments on how sick I look, or calls me Ms Skinny and not in a complimentary way. I am a very healthy BMI by the way and still have 10 lbs to lose.

It just goes to show that you can't please everyone and losing weight should be about what you want.

I'd like to add that my husband has never said I look better or worse at XXX weight. It can be frustrating because he doesn't compliment me on looking "better" but he says I'm always beautiful to him, which is probably very smart. Just goes to show, true friends and family will like you regardless of weight.

My body gets touched and stroked more often. Before, it was usually tickling.

I still do have my ticklish points though .

From friends and family, no difference.

From strangers, absolutely. When I was overweight, bartenders, sales people and the like ignored me until I became insistent; after the weight loss, I didn't notice this so much. And definitely more attention from men.
