Anyone ever had elbow tendinitis? How long did it take to heal?

My elbow area hurt from doing simple dumbbell curls. Had to stop. It's been 3 months. Feels better but I'm afraid to jump back in too soon. A friend said 6 months healing time.

See a massage therapist for 2 half-hour sessions/week to work on that. It'll really help. Don't jump back too soon.

Yes, and it's healed. I saw my Neurokinetic Therapy therapist. All resolved 1 visit
No need to waste your time with worthless treatments and physical therapy, unless you want to...

I had a pretty bad case and it took about 6 months for it to fully heal. During these months I attempted to do biceps work every now and then and probably could have cut a month off the healing process if I just let it rest. Trust me, it will go away you just have to be patient. Easier said then done though. Good luck.

These helped me.

Summit Medical Group - Golfer's Elbow Exercises

But everybody is different. Taking time off to heal is important. If you can see a Dr. who has experience with sports injuries.

A full year for me and now I am careful. Got it from doing pull ups and tried to ignore it - bad idea. Then, every time the pain went away, I tried to resume my usual work-out routine - again, bad idea. Ended up with an impinged nerve as well. Rest, rest and more rest. Ice, rest. Then, get constricting elbow sleaves (from wrists to upper arm) and compression pads to fit around the elbows for future work outs. I can finally work out again as long as I have the elbows wrapped and don't do anything extreme. But at the worst, my pain was so bad I could hardly move my left arm. Tried P.T. with minimal results but ice and rest are key. It's very frustrating if you are used to weight training but, until it heals you will only do more damage. Patience is key.

I had elbow tendinitis from bicep curls earlier this year. I went back to the gym after 3 weeks of rest, but avoided curls for a couple weeks. I asked a trainer about it and she said not to turn my elbow while lifting. I've been doing hammer curls instead and my elbows have felt fine ever since.

Fighting mine for a while now.
Exercises, stretches and massaging the bastard has been helping.

I also found that Penetrex does wonders for my elbow, Super Cissus brought a whole lot of a relief while I was taking it.

I never had any pain when not lifting weights. It was only painful to do curls with 35 lb dumb bells. I've been resting for 3 months. I tried doing one curl yesterday. No major pain. I'm shooting for 6 months. I might get a 25 lb dumb bell and ease into it.
