I ordered one of those weighted hoops with magnets........dont buy one... their painful to use and I was covered in bruises... buy an ordinary weighted one... a complete waste of money and lying behind my couch now redundant..
Rejuvenating this thread..... I mostly do go for long walks but with the frigid temps a few weeks ago and ice that goes wtih it, I wanted to try something indoors without a bit investment. I ordered a hoop after researching a big, and finally just got it a few days ago. It's definitely not as easy as it looks, or as easy I remembered doing it as a child.
It's a bit of a learning curve for sure. I am hoping to get better at it - well that I am doing as I am improving each day but just not great strides---------and would love to do this every day for a good while. I am at the point now where I am still getting the hang of it and if I spend 5 or 10 minutes, it's probably starting it at least that many times. I am able to do it now for 20 revolutions but I am not at all smooth or graceful.
I would love to see an improved waistline at some point!
Anyone else hula-ing?
When I was in Elementary School, we did hula hoop in PE. We even had hula hoop "wars" where you would lean forward and run to get it going really fast and then engage with someone else and knock their hoop with yours and whomever's hoop touched the floor was out. Keeping it moving around your waist after getting rammed by somebody else required a lot of strength and agility.
Everybody loved hula hoop wars. Of course, we also had to do square dancing in PE as well (because Texas). That was pretty cringe as I recall.....holding hands with sweaty palmed boys I didn't like.
What is the purpose of magnets inside a hula hoop?
