I'm starting to attend a gym and I'm wondering would it be ok to wear a sport bra with no shirt on it? I find it easier to exercise in such way. But the problem is that I have untoned belly. In fact my belly hangs over my pants for an inch or so. I worry wouldn't it be considered rude to show it such way?

I always wear a Sport T - even I have toned belly. But who cares about your hanging belly if you don't have any you wont go there take it easy.

Rude? No. But unappealing? Definitely. Lose the belly before you go exposing it. Wear a light tank top over your sport bra until then.

Really? So only flabby and fat people go to gyms? So how do those who are fit maintain their fitness?

I've never understood the "wear a sports bra with no shirt" but "can't wear a regular bra with no shirt" in public.

Put a shirt on, even if you have toned abs.

Wear what you want when you want and if it is unappealing to someone else tough.
You are there to sweat, work out and get your body in better shape, you are not there to impress anyone.

One woman I've noticed at a nearby gym lately, she does the sport bra thing with belly rolls & back rolls hanging all over the place. It's her prerogative, she seems comfortable that way. Management hasn't confronted her, and I have the option of not looking at her.

It depends on the protocol of where you go. I go to the YMCA and they would not approve of that. You need to cover up regardless what your belly looks like. I only expose my midriff when I take the belly dance class (all women) and put my shirt on before leaving to the public area.

I really think you will be quite comfortable to put a loosely fitted knit tank over your sport bra, that is what I wear to work out.

Wear what you want to wear, but if you're asking for advice, put a comfortable shirt on.
