No, but I did a search. The research on where people live the longest is interesting but i don't see how it relates to the this topic. It talks about constant moderate physical activity, but that is a relative term based on empirical data and first hand observations as to why these populations live healthier and longer lives.

Generally I too enjoy shoveling snow. There's a fresh feel to the cold air, and shoveling is a nice change of pace from the usual workout routine.

However, here in the Boston area, I'm suddenly finding that this particular form of exercise is beginning to wear thin. In my local section of the suburbs, we've now the average snowfall for an entire winter in just the past ten days. And they're predicting another several inches for Thursday. Yikes!

This does mean that it's now fresh in my memory what it feels like to shovel snow. I can say that it definitely counts as exercise!

I just dug my car out of 16 inches of snow. It was a decent workout. I even sweated a little bit.

I think shovelling snow is a good workout. I know after shovelling the 20+ inches we received I'm feeling sore muscles I didn't know I had.
