How many times per week do you go to the gym?

How are you able to fit a full time work schedule and go to gym?

I don't think it can be done.

I work out about 5 days a week. I take rest days during weekdays(usually Tuesday and Thursday) to avoid over stress since it's easier to work out weekends. I drive to the gym right after work to avoid distractions. I think meal prepping is more time consuming, at least for me.

You have to make it a priority.

I work a full time job and I also make the time to exercise and workout.
My hours are from 8 to 5pm Monday through Friday.

When I leave work at 5, I drive to the gym, where I change. I then proceed to spend about an hour to an hour and a half at the gym lifting weights, doing cardio, etc.... I usually do this about 4 to 5 days a week and not to toot my own horn, but I'm lookin good these days.

You basically have to make the decision that this is something you're going to commit to... So when im out of the gym at like 6:30pm, I then have dinner, go home and relax or do what I need to do for the rest of the evening. It's really not that difficult.

Bicycle commuting burns a significant amount of my calories exercised. For the rest I make the time to do a little calisthenics and stretching.

Think of it this way. You can make your work your whole life. Eating wrong, little or no exercise, gaining weight, developing health issues.

After you have done this for 20yrs will your employer say, "Thank you FreshFresh! We appreciate all the effort you have done for us. We are glad you neglected your health to do your job!"

Or are they more likely to say, "FreshFresh, we have noticed you have been having issues with attendance. We understand you are having health issues but if you can't do your job..."

You need to find a balance that works for you. If you don't take care of yourself why should anybody else?

I know people who exercise in the wee hours of the morning. Some go after work. Some go around 9:00 p.m. I think it all boils down to making it a priority, and wanting it. If you want it, you will make time for it.

During the week I exercise between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. Weekends are much more flexible of course. My goal is 5x/week and I usually get in at least 3-4 workouts.

1. Schedule it in.
2. Build it into your day if possible (biking to work, etc.)
3. Expanding beyond the gym to meet fitness needs.

Wake up early and do cardio and take an hour after work to do weights/crossfit/yoga/martial arts. Easy. This is all done in addition to having to pick up the kid from school, and shuttling her around between gymnastics, ballet, guitar and art classes.

Thing is, to me there is NOTHING more important than taking care of my health/fitness. So I MAKE time to do it. If its important to you, you WILL make time to do it. If it isnt so important, then you wont so you'll end up fat with diabetes, heart disease and other ailments. For me, that makes the decision to carve out "health time" very very easy.

I can't make time to schedule a gym visit because of spending so much time commuting to and from work. I get up at 3:45 AM to get to work by 5:30 so I can beat the traffic in and don't get home until 5:00 or 6:00 PM
I've often thought as I'm sitting in traffic crawling along at 10MPH on my 1 1/2 hour commute home how great it would be if I could have a pendant attached to the car like an overhead crane so that I could get out and jog alongside the car for a 1/4 mile stretch at a time to get my cardio going.
I try to cram it all in on the weekends becoming a weekend warrior but that just kills my body for Monday morning.
But, doing something is better than doing nothing.
