I use Run-Tastic to map out routes, but other than that I am dismally low-tech.

For strength, I use the Wendler Log App, which is a must have if you follow 5/3/1.
If I go out for a run, I use the Zombies, Run! 3 app which makes running way more enjoyable.
That looks like fun! Do have to keep looking at your screen, or does it give you voice commands? (I'm picturing myself getting distracted and running into oncoming traffic. Or dog poop.)
I was going to post this question and decided to search if someone else asked it and sure enough someone did.
I've been using MyFitnessPal, which ties to my Fitbit app and now the Under Armour Record app. (although in hindsight I could probably get away with just using the Fitbit app only).
I wanted to up my game and switch up my workouts and wanted an app for that. However my issue is I don't carry my phone with me when I workout. My music is on my iPod since I have an android. So that's what I carry when I workout. Given most fitness apps are reliant on you having your phone with you while working out, and I don't want to do that, what are my options? The only thing I can think of is possibly upgrading my iPod to one that can access apps.

You can record your reps/sets quick and easy. And you can easily look up past workouts to see how you are progressing, as well as review what all you did on certain days.
