I haven't ran a road race in about 3 year's. I haven't ran for 2 year's. I been running intermittently uo until May of this year. I started having a more scheduled and planned workouts a week. I am having a mental block can't get past 2 miles.

I run about 8 miles a week 5 day's a week. I usually go to the gym once a week and walk 15 miles a week.

So I decided for motivation come start of the year planning to sign up for a half marathon. Last one I ran was in 150 minutes and fastest half I ran was about 5 or 6 year's ago in 115 minute's.

Thinking of two races one in the beginning of May the other end of June. Think I be ready in about 20 week's or shoot for the one in 30?

Appreciate the feedback.

20-30 weeks should be more than enough to go from zero miles to 13.1 given most courses have a 4-6 hr time limit

There's a big difference between a 10 min pace and 11 over 13 miles both however are under 2:30. 2:30 is 11:26 pace

CT races? Which ones are you thinking? The Fairfield Half is actually on sale right now!

20 weeks is more than enough time to train. I think 2:30 is reasonable, to ease back in.

A lot probably depends on your age, but 2:30 should not be a tough goal to reach unless you are rather old or have a disability. Your present level of running is minimal, but certainly a lot better than nothing, and gives you a start.
You might try joining a local run group (check with local running store) or doing a plan like C25K to help with motivation. Often the key to running further is to slow the pace.
Good luck!
