I've heard that if you lift weights, you will burn more calories at rest and after working out, your body will continue to burn calories. How can I figure out an estimation of how many calories I am burning overall per day?
I believe my resting BMR is currently about 1300. Now that I am lifting weights, should I assume it's around 1400 now?
OK if I achieve increased muscle mass from resistance training, what is my BMR?
1 pound of muscle adds 7 calories to your BMR. If you know your body fat % you can calculate this using BMR.
