Yes, yes, yes! What this person says!

And hell no, do not remove eggs! They're freaking awesome. If you go on Facebook, check out Putting My Best Foot Forward. She is doing so very well on her journey and eats 2 eggs every single day. Of course that's just one person though. And I eat 2 eggs about 4 times a week, with bacon and rye bread and avocado. Yummm! Down 27 pounds!

Eggs are good for you. If nothing else, get egg whites.

Drinking two cups of water 30 minutes before a meal and drinking tea after a meal should help you eat less.

Just make sure you are having it in a small portions after specific time intervals. I think that would be good.

Yet another drive-by poster in this forum. I'm shocked.

This!

I'll add one other point.

I love eggs, very healthy. Matter of fact, I purchased chickens and produce my own eggs for that reason. Like the one poster stated you are going to have people come on and tell you don't eat this don't eat that. You'll find these fads from one end of the spectrum to the other. Heavy protein diets, heavy fat diets, all vegetable diets, heck you even find people that swear by eating bananas all day.

I'll add my little bit. Enjoy a wide variety but cut down on the process foods or eliminate them. I believe that is a key to being healthy and not just losing weight. So there is my advise.

Many cultures thrive and are healthy on a wide variety of stable foods that aren't so heavily processed and being active.

For starters, leave out the grapes/raisins, anything made from grain and the eggs. Otherwise, it seems fairly good. But don't include any potatoes, soybeans or black beans among the vegetables. Other kinds of beans and peas can be good in moderation. The yogurt should be non-fat and non-sweetened. I don't know how you'd eat cranberries without sweetener. Almonds/almond butter would be a good addition, as they have a low ratio of omega 6 fat to the healthier omega 3. Peanuts are very high in omega 6 fat, which should be minimized. Other good items are water-packed sardines and avocados. Turkey is a good alternative to chicken, but it's become very expensive. It has the lowest level of saturation in its fat, of any meat. Some fruits to avoid, as they have sugar that is high on the Glycemic Index (bad), are pineapples, bananas, mangoes, dates and others. Look up a chart online of the Glycemic Index and see how the different fruits are rated. Fruit sugar high on this index will digest and turn into blood sugar rapidly, causing more fat storage and could contribute to Type II Diabetes. And also keep your salt intake as low as you can. Drain and rinse canned fish with water, to lower the salt they put in such foods. Cheese and butter usually have a lot of salt added (including cottage cheese).
The US is skyrocketing in Type II because we sit on our butts and eat to many processed foods readily packaged for our convenience at the human feedlots (grocery stores, restaurants, fast food).

There is nothing wrong with eating the fruits, eggs, potatoes, beans that you mentioned. It's the amounts you eat, how they are prepared and where you get them. If you are getting your potatoes from McDonald's fries or having a baked potato within the month is a big difference.

All of those items you mentioned are better than a ready to cook frozen pizza or other convenience processed food at the grocery store.

OP, you can enjoy your food and lose weight and be healthy without restricting your taste buds to some formula of prohibition of natural good foods based on personal outlooks and BS studies that come out every year contradicting the last study published.

If your goal is to lose weight, simply burn more than you consume. Goal is to be healthier and lose weight, You can and not be forbidden from eating all the natural foods abound. Just my opinion and personal experience. Good luck.

Has anyone asked OP what is the goal of his diet? What is he trying to accomplish, as that determines the choice of foods.
