At least the showers in women's locker rooms are private, i.e. they have a door. But outside the shower, women go to all manner of lengths to try to maintain modesty. I don't run into exhibitionist women. That's really weird, you guys. This thread is funny, but kind of gross, too.
And to answer the question, I discovered that it's kind of exhilarating to shower immediately after a workout. Something about the effect of the hot water on your muscles after a workout, and removing the sweat, and stepping out clean and refreshed that provides a little high and is also relaxing. Going home to shower doesn't have the same effect.
Who even thinks about stupid things like this? I've never even considered why an exercising stranger (supposedly) showers more than me, much less started a thread on it.
Ill admit I don't have any horse blinders on, Im a people watcher and I wonder about people at the gym all the time. To each their own but it really makes you wonder sometimes. My mind is always spinning thinking of why they do this and why they do that but then I think to myself they may be thinking the same about me.
In my gym, it's mostly a handful of older, retired guys that are the exhibitionists. As soon as they arrive, they quickly strip down, and then they start their lengthy conversations, usually about politics. And that can last 10, 15, even 30 minutes. Then they put on their gym gear and go workout or swimming. After they are done, they come into the locker room, drop everything, and hang out in the natural again continuing their conversations. We used to have a couple of European guys that would spend a lot of time in front of the mirrors admiring and preening themselves while in-the-natural. I think it's all funny myself. Oh yes, they all showerr and some shave too, in the shower stalls and in the vanity area. Whatever.......
p.s., I don't want to go near these guys and tell them they should cut back on showers.
The guys I was talking about in my other post also use the blow-dryer a lot too. They have long hair on their heads, like was common here in the 80s and 90s. They blow dry all over, not just the hair on their head. They seem to be less self-conscious about themselves than most. I think it's part of the European thing, especially among men there. They don't grow up with the hangups we encounter here.
