Since Monday up until Thursday I have been dealing with a head cold. Most of my symptoms are gone still have a scratchy throat, headache, and occasional runny noise. Passed on going to the gym Tuesday and Thursday due to feeling under the weather and opted to run/ride the stationary bike at home/life the sandbag/do some plyometrics.

Since I am still having some cold like symptoms think I should still pass on the gym? What stops you from gong to the gym?

Any spreadable disease, via contact or air, I'd not go. be mindful of others. Just do cardio thing at home, run outside...

Been rough month of not going to the gym. Easier to get a run or bike at home then driving 15 minutes to the gym and 15 minutes back. That's 30 minutes of work out time. Been just doing 5 to 6 days of running and 2 to 3 days on the bike.

Thank you for NOT going to the gym and spreading your sickness. I certainly appreciate it. If I'm feeling ill I also do not go to the gym, I let my body recover before taxing it with training.

You gotta listen to your body. If you still feel pretty sick, don't go. If it's just some leftover sniffles, then go. Depends how serious you are about your training.

Are you going to continue missing work? If you're not going to miss work because of leftover mild symptoms then don't miss the gym.

Please do not go to the gym if you are sick. In fact do not go to work either. Stay home, get better and do not go out and spread your germs. Its just not cool.

If it's just mild lingering symptoms, it's fine to go to the gym. Just be sure to observe the usual common courtesies of wiping down equipment, etc. Getting sick is a risk we all take everyday going outside. Sometimes it happens. Human bodies can generally handle someone else's mild sniffles. Sometimes not, but hey not the end of the world.

If you're in the throes of a head cold then sure don't go. But mild symptoms? A few germs won't kill anyone.

I agree with that. If you are contagious stay home. After than it doesn't matter.
I changed gyms a year ago and its a different mind set there it seems. No one wipes down anything. And I am talking about a lot of sweat coming off leaving wet marks and drips. The people seemed to be a lot more courteous at my last gym.
