No surprises here, though it's a study of rodents rather than humans. Edit: Sorry about repost. Guess my brain needs some work.

It seems like what's good for heart health is also good for brain health. And now there's a study indicating that doing something simple like having a cup of tea a day may help prevent the onset of dementia.

And speak of the devil, I just happen to be drinking a glass of green tea right now as a result of that study. Started drinking it yesterday.

Eh, I'm skeptical about the weight training simulation with rats. Climbing a wall with a little weights on their tails? I don't think that's comparable to intense, heavy weight training in humans. Anyway, still interesting stuff.

Neurobics is the best brain exercise.

Try doing everything with your non-dominant hand.
Learn something new every week.
Change your routines weekly.
Take a new route to work or home.

Excellent ! advice. That's right Continue... daily to
* ask more... positive questions
* gain new awareness,
* interview others already excelling in skills you too are interested in.
* copy others already excelling in abilities you too want to become good in.
* Play, pretend. & imagine learning such skills
* have fun... this is very important: Life was meant to be enjoyed
* Don't get stuck in ruts.
* Never agree to age. Stay *youthful* in your mind...

One of the keys, (according to my 87 year old father) is not to hang out with old people!

Yes, also true, 99% of the time. But there are exceptions, or better said exceptional individuals who
(never mind a birth certificate, nor chronological numbers;
unless stopped by harmful people), we simply continue with the likes of children's 46+ successful behaviors. Hey, these strategies work!

For me learning to play Bridge back when I was about 23 by my then husband who learned in college. Today, I'd guess the college students don't learn that great mind card game. I had to quit for some years as I had to support myself after divorce, but picked it back up in my 60's in retirement and KNOW my brain is so much healthier due to bridge playing. My friend who just passed at 95 played the game about 50 yrs of her life and she was so sharp. We have bridge members who are in their 90-100's with great minds. A lady still comes to the bridge club and she's headed to 102 and plays a good game...

Today's generation is addicted to the ipads and will have early arthritis of the fingers.

Also be interesting and interested and one's mind expands. Lot of boring people out there.
