Hi so I've been sick for 7 day's. Hoping the doc can call in something for me and waiting to see what happens.
I know the rule of thumb above the neck okay to run and below the neck should rest.
I rested the first day I was sick. Did a 3 mile run before work Saturday figure I am working so why rest. Felt horrible Saturday eve at work, but survived. Then worked 32 hours Sunday and Monday. Ran 2 miles Tuesday and then worked Tuesday eves. Still felt sick, but better.
Then Wednesday felt great so I ran a slow easy 4 miles. Come that evening started to become extremely fatigued. Literally just passed out. Woke up this morning feeling horrible again. Lots of sinus pressure, sore throat, fatigue, and achy all over.
I could manage to run today. My stubbornness says go for it. I know I should probably rest. Feel if I rest can resume training at max capacity in a shorter time frame; instead of training at half capacity be longer duration to able to get back to normal workout routine.
Looking for someone to knock some sense into me and tell me to rest.
What do you think I should rest or run?
Hoping to run a 12 next week. Ran a 12 miler two Sunday's ago. Been able to run a few 6 mile runs since then. Should I be able to run next Wednesday you think a 12 if I am feeling better?
Hopefully can finish the week with a 4 tomorrow, and 4 Saturday with weight lifting. 4 Sunday and a 6 Monday. Criss train Tuesday. 12 Wednesday. Cross train/4 next Thursday. A 6 Friday. Then rest Saturday.
Based on your username and your obsession with running I don't think it matters what some strangers are going to tell you to do on a message board. It sounds like you're going to RUN RUN RUN yourself ragged regardless.
