How the title say's Hand Gripper exercises. I Did a google and youtube search for exercises using a gripper for forearm size and stronger grip. Sadly I only found youtubes on how to use it properly. I am looking for a workout that involves the use of the hand gripper. Sure I can make my own up, i was just wondering if any of you know where i can find what I'm seeking. Thanks
If you are interested in increasing your hand, wrist and forearm strength have you checked out your gym to see if they have a fixed "wrist roller" attached to a metal frame? You set it at shoulder height, attach a kettle bell to the strap and using both hands on the roller you roll up the strap(over the bar and away from you and then controlled return to the starting point). That is considered one set. Then you do the same thing, but, this time you roll the strap under the bar and towards you.
Do a set of 10, 5 in one direction and 5 in the opposite direction. The fixed wrist roller targets the forearm because you are not depending upon your upper arm strength to do the work.
The average person should be able to wrist roll 15% of their body weight. Much to my trainer's surprise he has watched me go from barely being able to do a wrist curl with a 3 lb weight to being able to wrist roll a 44 lb kettle bell (which is 40% of my body weight).
Only down side is that sometimes I forget how much stronger my grip is when I shake hands with other little old ladies.
