Standing 5’5″ tall, with long arms and legs, and weighing only 134 lbs, Jennifer Thompson does not have the typical stature for a World Class Powerlifter. However, when you learn that she was able to raw bench press 308 lbs in competition and currently holds the highest Bench Press Wilks Coefficient ever recorded for men or women at 154.5, there is no denying that she is one of the best powerlifters on the planet! (No athlete has ever gone over 150 besides Jennifer). Check out this interview below to learn more about this inspirational athlete!
Holy crap. Benching isn't really determinant of strength, it's determinate of benching. If the average man benches everyday for a year or two he can go from 100 to 400lbs.

Which is why every gym is full of guys benching 400lbs

If the average man benched every day for a year or two he'd destroy his body for lack of recovery time. If it were as easy as described more people would be benching 400 lbs.

Let's not try to downplay what the young lady has accomplished. At her weight 315 pounds is an extremely impressive bench, not to mention the fact that she's a woman. The average man will probably never be able to bench press 400 pounds, especially if he weighs less than 200 pounds.

Agree completely. And forget 400 pounds. The average man cannot even bench 315, so what this girl has done is incredibly impressive.

The bench is one of the foundations of determining strength, the other two foundations being the squat and deadlift, with many people stating the OHP is as well.
Looking at her stats, she records a 308 bench, a 325 squat, and a 446 deadlift, I would say that qualifies as being strong.
No man can go from a 100 max to a 400 max in one year, even jacked on roids. Most men will spend their entire life in a great bench program and never hit 400 and/or over 2x their BW.

Weak people who always like to claim they are "runners" or "swimmers" are always criticizing strength trainers like this (not saying the poster you responded to is in this category). The great thing about people who make these claims is that rarely can it be confirmed visually, unlike strength training, this is why numerous out of shape, weaklings love to state they are "runners", so they can feel like they to are involved in the exercise lifestyle and are legitimate in their criticizing of others.
When I used to hit the gym there was this one woman, she could bench press as much as me and squatted more.
She asked me out and I have to say I was a bit intimidated....
