I figured that was obvious?

Chin ups - underhand
Pullups - overhand

Isn’t that how everyone does it?

My chinning bar also has two stick-outs which offer a third grip option. Overhand, underhand, straight up.

My gym has that as well but it’s not comfortable for me. I rarely use it.

Dif'rent strokes. It's the one I use 95% of the time, injuries and other events have made that option the best for me. Glad it's there.

I've noticed this position puts less stress on the elbows. I've noticed a similar thing with a military press machine when I have had shoulder pain. The straight up grip is easier on the shoulder joints than a regular military press. Dumbbells accomplish the same thing for military presses.
