Being a vegan, how can I convince my non-vegetarian roommates not to cook non-vegetarian food in the house? I don't want to be rude, but since they are in the majority(2 vs 1) I am kind of in a weird situation of how to ask them to not cook nonveg in the house.

Probably better suited for a different forum.

You won't! So either find another place to live or live and let live.

Tell them the smell of meat cooking sends you into a blood-thirsty rage and you can't hold yourself accountable if they choose to do that.

It's their home too. Why would you expect them to alter their lifestyle to accommodate you? Does their preparing non-vegan food interfere with your personal choices? Seems it wouldn't: you should be able to enjoy your vegan meals regardless of how your roommates live.

I don't believe you have any right to tell your roommates what to eat. Did you all of a sudden decide to be a vegan and now expect everyone around you to do the same? Were you a vegan when you decided to be roommates with these other two? Nothing worse than a recent convert of anything trying to tell everybody how to live, what to eat, etc.

this is why so many vegans have a bad rep. They're your roommates, they can cook whatever they like.

you don't have a right to tell them what to eat.

I've been a pescatarian, vegetarian and vegan for 2 years but you can't enforce your rules on them.

It seems odd that someone who expects roommates to refrain from cooking their normal, everyday types of food doesn't have the forethought to move in with others who share the same values instead of unreasonably expecting to change people who are not vegetarian or vegan. Just sayin'.

You DON’T! That is incredibly rude. No one should have to cater to your weird, extreme way of eating. If you don’t like it, move and find like-minded roommates.
