Who's been taking a break these past couple of weeks from the gym? I am guilty of that and looking for support.

Not me. But there is nothing wrong with taking a week off. In fact, it will give your body and mind a chance to re-charge for the year. I try and take a week off when I vacation every year. But I enjoy going to the gym during the holidays because it's mostly empty.

I think one of the keys to life long fitness is to use holidays and vacations as a time to jump start your fitness program. Unless you're on an African safari or climbing Mt. Everest, what excuse do you have for not working out?

Christmas Eve and New Years Eve were two of the busiest days I ever seen at my local gym, so I think a lot of people were trying to get a head start on their new years resolutions.

I took almost two weeks off. I needed time to get ready for guests and to do shopping. Going to the gym does not energize me at my age. It makes me tired. So I have to allocate my available energy wisely. We went back Monday, and I felt good afterwards. I hope to be totally on track tomorrow.

Never..I freak out if I miss a day lol..don't feel guilty, though as we are all different and our needs vary. You may even come back more enthusiastic, energized and stronger.

I took about 2 weeks off. Last week I even decided to *gasp* not put my fitness tracker on. Unfortunately, I also stuffed my face and drank way too much. Even though I say I'm not going to, every darn year I do this to myself in December....but honestly I think it's a great way to jump start my fitness goals for the new year. I could not wait to get on that treadmill this morning.

I've been decent on my diet which has made me maintain weight through holidays. I had family over and found excuse to not go to the gym. Now that things are back in motion I need to find motivation to get back in but I'll be traveling for work in the next couple of weeks so I may just start after that.

Took about two weeks here, but that is because we were traveling. As soon as we got back, I was in Lagree, spin, and hiking. Today was workout 4 for the week, which is pretty normal for me and where I was before the holidays.

I only took off three days from exercise (aside from my usual 1 or 2 rest days per week.) But the break I took from any semblance of sound nutrition probably outweighs that by a mile. By Dec 26 I was all but begging for a piece of meat and tossed salad- with a week of holidays, air travel, and bowl game viewing still remaining.

Yesterday was the first day I felt my diet was at least neutral. I've felt off when exercising but cannot decide if its from extra weight, odd sleep habits over the last few weeks, or the crappy diet itself.
