Carl Grove of Bristol, Indiana set a world record in the 500 meters for the 90-94 age group. As with any WR, he was drug tested afterwards and passed. He went out for dinner with his team to celebrate, and ate calves liver.
The next day he competed again in the 2000 meters, and again set a world record at 3 minutes, 6.2 seconds. Again he was tested, and this time failed. Apparently because of the liver, he tested positive for anabolic steroids. I heard his trainer interviewed, and the trainer said that liver is one of the worst things to eat because it is essentially responsible for cleaning the rest of the body. Maybe that's why virtually all children hate it; I'm weird, I always liked it. I think my mom was just great at preparing it to make it taste good. I always also thought that it would be good for endurance athletes due to the iron.
So Mr. Grove loses his WR, but still an impressive performance. Can't find video of the race, but here is an interview of him from 3 years ago.
Incidentally, the OP article suggests that the liver was contaminated.
