I'm a big proponent of fitness (66 years old and attempting my first duathlon tomorrow, which is a 5K, 12 miles on the bike and another 5K), but I always wonder about these studies because there's some self-selection going on. The women who do a lot of steps per day are the ones healthy enough to get up and walk, so no surprise that they live longer. As for no benefit after 7,500 steps- I'll keep going anyway if I can. It burns more calories and keeps your muscles in shape. Use it or lose it!

What you say about studies is true. Tomorrow, some other body will give a different recommendation based on their "findings."
I have seen the article. My conclusion, I need at least 7500 steps a day.
