Those exercises are isolation based exercise so yes but i would recommend a well balance leg program. You need to squat, deadlift, lunge, reverse lunge, calf raise, etc to develop nicely sculpted and strong legs.
I would like to stick to leg extensions and leg curls to get big muscular quads. Is this possible?
I really want huge quads. Its silly though because I never wear shorts so it's not like I can show them off, lol.
i would say no even though maybe it is possible. if you want to get huge fillet mignon quads with as few exercises as possible; obvious the squat is the way to go.
Avoid leg extension machines, or any other exercise which isolates either quads or hamstrings.
The knee is designed to function with multiple muscles simultaneously; this keeps joint properly aligned.
Lunges, Bulgarian split squats, or dumbbell squats with back against a wall all shift your weight backwards; and therefore focus more strain on quads.
These are better alternatives.
i would imagine stairs would probably work better than running or biking but i dont think any cardio will do much to give you massive beefcake quadzillas. maybe they can give you lean and hard ones but size is attained via pushing heavy weights. why are you trying to avoid squats? there are machines you can use for squats. the next best thing i guess would be the leg press machine.
