Sigh...a wrench thrown into my P90x routine. I'm gonna have to stop doing p90x for about a month maybe. I'm getting a cornea transplant at the end of may and I need to take it easy and lay off rigorous exercise for a few weeks so my eye can heal. Very lame. Oh well. I'm going to keep on going though until the day before.

Don't worry - you have to look at this long term. It's a temporary wrench in the works, and you can jump back in a few weeks later. Concentrate on getting well and then you can BRING IT even more!

I myself run a mile in the morning, p90x after lunch, then go biking for about an hour later at night. Two days of the week I weight lift. Let me tell ya... I am in such good shape, but it wouldn't be much without p90x.

Also to those who have trouble with the diet. You don't have to follow the diet to a complete T. You can mix it in with your diet you eat right now, that's what I do and I lost a lot of fat but not weight(that's what p90x does for you). Just don't ignore it completely.

Don't get too frustrated, a month will go by quickly. Concentrate on following the nutrition program, and slowly work your way back into it. Maybe you will still be able to stretch, do some YogaX and than move to Cardio and eventually resistance again. Life situations will continue to pop up....just need to work through them. Wishing you a quick recovery...good luck. JerryMac

For people like me who need to remove the layer of sheets, it's going to require 2, 3 or more rounds of P90X. Don't get me wrong though, I love the program and it definitely has helped me achieve levels I've never been at before, but it is frustrating that I will be doing a round 2 regardless. I guess I wanted to see faster results within the 90 days.
I agree... I have a lot of weight to lose and I don't see the weight going away fast enough to get ripped... I definetely feel stronger and look stronger... my arms shoulders, chest, back and legs have more muscle definition... but to get ripped, you need to be fairly thin already. The 90 days is a gimmick so you stick with it... but you would have to keep doing it to maintain your gains in any event.

Didn't you say that you aren't sticking to the diet plan?

I've been pretty rigid with the diet with the exception of having a glass of wine or beer from time to time. I'm finishing up week 6 and have faith that I'll be "ripped" (or pretty darn close) after 90 days. I hope it's not just wishful thinking!

If you have a lot of weight to lose, were you really expecting to look like He Man by the end of only 3 months?

How much weight is 'a lot'?

I don't think it's a gimmick at all - it's pretty obvious to me that someone with significant body fat to lose will hardly be 'ripped' in 90 days no matter what exercise regime they do.

Some of the transformations I've seen on the boards are no joke. Some happened in 90 days, and some took longer. This is about a healthy lifestyle, not just 3 months and done.

Keep at it, enjoy your successes and look at the first 90 days as a beginning, not the end.

You hit the nail on the head, hoboken! I was under no delusions that I would be totally ripped in 90days but I knew I would be well on my way!

Funny thing is that after 6 weeks, I'm down 20lbs and have dropped 2 pants sizes and have put on a lot of muscle mass already. I may get ripped sooner than later!! Regardless, I feel so much better mentally and physically than I did 6 weeks ago!

Wahoo!!! Great job redsoxfan - that is awesome!! I'm glad you are feeling so good - I've spent this evening taking in a bunch of my summer trousers which are now huge on me. I'm not ready to go out and buy new stuff yet (still got most of round two to go!).

Keep pushing play and bringing it to every work out!

Yeah, I'm not being strict with it though I'm eating less... I'm doing it with about 4 of my friends... some more strict than others with their diet... I don't think anyone is getting "ripped" in 90 days... maybe it's just us... everyone is losing weight and getting more definition but I just don't see it working to get you very defined in 90 days... though I guess it could work for some.
