It's been particularly hard on apartment/condo dwellers. Cardio can be done by running laps around the neighborhood, but what about weight lifting? There are only so many push-ups that one could do on one's floor. Heavy weights are impractical in a home-gym, unless one has a basement for where to install them. Those of us who have been more ambitious with the standard free-weights at the gym, are going to be in a bit of a bind.
I'm certainly no expert Suggestion - how about using some exercise bands? Don't those provide some resistance, similar to weight lifting? (I know it's not the same! But they're portable, easy to adjust).
We have a small fitness center in our clubhouse, and it remained open for a while, but closed last week for several reasons - a couple were that they were running low on cleaning wipes, and people were not able to maintain the 6 ft distancing.

I reside in an apartment. The main apartment gym has been closed. The apartment pool is closed, though I typically don't swim until May. I have done home workouts from YouTube. I used to use free weights and barbells at the gym.
I have a basic home gym Fortunately, I have expanded my use of resistance bands recently...so between the bands & the hand weights, I get in a decent workout.
I don't live in an apartment but I am sure they are closed. These are the times when it pays off having a good home gym. I went to Walmart last week and the exercise section looked pretty empty. All the weights, dumbells and kettlebells were gone. There was only one bench left and some accessories. It is incredible what people do during a crisis.
Planned for this as soon as the first lock downs started - like the folks that rushed for toilet paper - i had workouts in mind. Already have some benches, db's and misc equipment in the garage. Bought a slanted sit up board and a straight bar on Amazon. Have fans set up in the garage for the hot weather. Am doing my workouts there. Went for a run outside this morning.
The local one is closed and they don't even want playing basketball at the community hoop.
