I was going to the gym 5 days a week, eating chicken and asparagus for dinner and the scale wasn't moving. First I cut the booze. That was a start. But cutting out dairy changed everything! I'm now approaching high school weight, and I'm colder when I go for my evening walk.
I've gone through my cupboard and tossed anything that says "milk ingredients" on the label.
I had no problem cutting dairy - years now ...I don't know why. Sure I will use
milk in my coffee sometimes, esp in a restaurant (in the old days)...but I don't like to.
Sure, I'll have a slice of pizza every few months if on the run...maybe. Don't like white flour products.
Animal fat in general I'm not into - I do egg white omelets, too.
Dropped my cholesterol by 25 points cutting animal fat.
Way less mucus.
I'm fit and slender with no dairy or white flour -no alcohol helps a lot.... stupid empty calories...
PS: The heart is like a water pump - animal fat is like putting bubble gum in a water pump. Got that from a doctor.
Was that low fat dairy?
I think if you consume whole fat dairy, it will keep you fuller/longer.
Also, a lot of the low fat yogurts have added sugar which makes it worse.
And before you complain, high fat dairy is not associated with high cholesterol. Some studies actually say, the fat in the dairy, might prevent a lot of fat absorption through the gut.
People sometimes forget to count the calories in milk, so if you are taking in 2 cups of whole milk a day (300 calories) over the course of a week (2100 calories) or a month (9000 calories) it can add up. Besides, how many people are measuring their milk?
It has less to do with with cutting out diary and more to do with excess calories you don't account for.
