I've heard that drinking magnesium citrate is a good way to cleanse your system on a regular basis. Has anyone else heard this?

If you eat correctly, and get plenty of exercise, your body will take care to cleanse itself.

The problem using other substances to "clean" your system is that they tend to wipe out many of the bacteria in your digestive system that need to be there.

Drink plenty of fluids and eat plenty of fibre...you won't have any problems.

Boy, cleaning out my system is one thing I'd never do willingly!

Due to family history, I have to have regular colonoscopies - the worst part for me is the prep. Talk about cleaned out....

^^^ thats mag citrate! NOT FUN!

I do think its good to "clean out" but I wouldnt pick that method.
I opt for juice fasting or water fasting 1-4 times a year.
Let the colon do its own thing without stimulation.

I've done the Lemonade diet in the past: (on a Saturday)

-2 tablespoons maple syrup
-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
-a pinch of cayenne pepper

Mix in water and drink throughout the day.

I must of lost 6 lbs and was on the toilet most of Sunday..

Update

I tried it this weekend and it wasn't that bad really. I didn't go anywhere on Saturday ( I could have later that evening) though.

Your body is self-cleaning on the inside--why would you do that and potentially upset the balance of your system????? Any weight you lose is fluid--drink enough and it all comes back. Waste of time!
