I have a hard time sticking with a regular walking routine because
so many things interfere with it later in the day.
I would like to try getting up early but I am not a morning person.
Does anybody have any mental/practical tricks to get myself up to walk??
Let me know your morning routine that includes walking/running.
I love running or walking early in the morning. No mental tricks for me. Just remind yourself it's a great way to start the day and remember how nice you will feel afterwards.
I am out of work now so I walk whenever (on my treadmill). I do not exercise or walk in the morning at all.....LOL. But when I worked I use to walk mid-day on my lunch hour. I was to tired to walk at night. Lunch hour will keep you on a schedule!!!
Mine routine's easy - I have to get my son to elementary school for 7.30am. So he rides his bike and I run alongside, drop him at school, then I carry on running for another 3 miles afterwards. I'm home by 8.15, showered, dressed and at my desk (home office) well before 9am.
I like running first thing - it's simpler. I drink a cup of hot water before running but no breakfast until after.
You may need to gently coax ( force ) yourself to do it initially. Within a short period of time, you'll begin to notice how good you feel from your early morning walk. Having made the connection between walking and feeling good, you'll soon be looking forward to your morning walk.
Thanks for the ideas...
I have started by adjusting my bedtime, as I am a nightowl.
I am going to start with a 7 am walk then
move it to sunrise (have to find out when that is
