Ditch the empty carbs filled with bad fats and high fructose corn syrup. Eat whole grains instead.

Fewer fried foods, especially French fries. Pizza rarely.

Cut way back on beer if you drink it. Ramp up the water and ditch the soda pop.

Let your best protein sources be fish (not fried) and skinless, broiled chicken.

Eliminate snack foods. Especially chips and other greasy ones with lots of additives.

Eat three squares a day, filled with salads, fresh vegetables and complex carbs like whole grains (brown rice, lentils, beans, barley, quinoa and such). No fast food breakfasts. Try oatmeal or high fiber cereals with fresh fruit on top.

Walk more.
