Williamstown, Australia (AHN) - Bette Calman may be 83, but she's still teaching yoga in an effort to spread the benefits of the ancient Indian system, from which she's obviously reaping the health benefits.

Calman, of Williamstown in southeast Australia, has been teaching yoga for 40 years, England's The Daily Telegraph reported.

This doesn't surprise me...my yoga instructor says during each class, "You're only as young as your spine is flexible." Obviously, this 83 year-old has a young spine--not to mention spirit..yoga's an important part of my life and I've found it's one of the kindest things you can for yourself...

That is awesome. I wish more people would take up yoga practice. Its pretty popular here in Los Angeles but I dont it is as much in other more conservative areas.

Ive been practicing yoga and including part of it in my taichi curriculum for more almost 15 years.

Talking Fantastic! Good for her.

I intend to keep doing yoga until I cant go anymore. It helps so much, you feel better physically and emotionally, and I wanna be just like this lady!
