Just started P90X this week and I am looking for a good cookbook that will get me eating healthy again Anyone have any good experiences with any that they can reccomend. Thanks in advance.
Check out "Food Rules," a wonderful little food guide by Michael Pollan. Some examples:
Rule #20: It's not food if it arrived through the window of your car
Rule #21: It's not food if it's called by the same name in every language, i.e. Big Mac, Cheetos, Pringles...
Rule #24: Eating what stands on one leg (i.e. mushrooms) is better than what stands on 2 legs (i.e. chicken), which is better than what stands on 4 legs (i.e. cows, pigs, and other mammals)
The examples come with very easy explanations/rationale for why we should follow that rule.
I have heard about a cookbook called Gourmet Nutrition that is supposed to have a lot of good tasting healthy recipes. I've been thinking about getting it, but haven't bit the bullet yet!
Not a Cookbook, but "CookingLight" the magazine usually has pretty good recipes. You can also check them out on-line. Allrecipes.com also has a "Healthy Cooking" section.
We quit using cookbooks because there are sooooooooo many really good and healthy recipes on the Internet.
Yeah, buying a cookbook is kind of a waste these days. Try allrecipies.com or cooking light's website
