I decided to start my own thread about fitness memberships.I am a member at 24hr fitness in las vegas and most of the cardio equipment seems way outdated. Are there any clubs that keep there equipment up to date?
I have tryed anytime fitness 7 day free trial, but then they wanted $60 a month I about fell off the chair,I was thinking $10-$15 a month they dont have hardly any equioment in them but the equipment is up to date.I like a place with people in it .
For $10 per month, I'd live with the outdated cardio equipment. (I pay $89 per month in NYC) so long as they have adequate free weights and a decent treadmill, I could easily make do.

Im thinking that people need to get back on topic here. The OP isnt asking about how much the fees are. He's asking about equipment.
Ive been a member of just about every gym chain in existence (Golds, World Gym, Ballys, 24hr Fitness, LA Fitness, etc.) and from my experience, no one has a clean, new, with always working most up to date current equipment as Equinox Fitness. This gym is unbelievable.
If you're serious about your fitness/health level, Crossfit gyms cannot be beat because they have training programs that are second to none. The only cardio equipment they have are Concept Rowing machines and jump ropes which are the absolute BEST for cardio other than outside running. Because of their commitment to overall functional fitness, Crossfit is the best. This is main type of workout that I do now. Here is the website to the gym in Las Vegas - http://www.crossfitlasvegas.com/ You should check them out.
I used to be a member of 24 hour fitness in the Seattle area. The club I initially joined was being closed + another one while a brand new 24 hour fitness was being opened. I was told that it was because the 2 clubs that were being closed were no longer portraying the image 24 hour fitness wanted to portray.
So it's possible they are slowly going towards newer/nicer clubs
I belong to 24 hour fitness in Portland. There are alot of clubs here 13 or so in the area. I don't care for this gym chain never have doubt I ever will. The clubs are not maintained well and when they are it is because it is a new club. The one I go to I only go to because it is near me. It is outdated and the cardio equipment is pathetic. It is not maintained and the cardio machines are over 11 years old now. I believe this club opened in 1998. I honestly would find another gym preferably not 24 hour fitness, but everything in Portland is dominated by 24 hour. The other 24 hour locations are not in my area, and are a pain to get to so not practical on that end. I find this gym chain unfriendly, snotty clientelle and one location here is a pretentious bore. If they at least maintained the equipment and replaced it from time to time I could stand it better. Its like they take your money and don't give a damn after than.
What I wouldn't give for Golds gym to return to this area. The majority of older 24 hours in Portland were once Golds.
