I prefer open air than A/C or fan .. according to the meds .. both are bad for health in someway .. google to get the facts right .. however its much better to work out early mornings .. running at the beach, feeling the cool breezy air .. oh goody .. them chics passing by with their pets .. after the usual beach visit .. i ride my bike straight to the gym that has large doors, usually kept open to welcome fresh air .. kids and young girls having a peek at us lol .. exercise for me is fun, just like a kid in an amusement park lol .. at the beach, sound of the seagulls, the waves and fresh breeze, the coco juice after the run ..ah man i miss it so much here .. Our world is no less than heaven, my request to everybody ..please be a responsible citizen of the world .. conserve energy and save our environment for a better life.. for ourselves and the generations to come ..
I don't like the A/C on high in a gym. I work up a good sweat, and when you stop in between exercises or in my case rounds, the high A/C cools me down too much. I would rather have a fan over an A/C that's set too high.
I like it hot in the gym. I love to sweat when I work out, and if my shirt isn't soaked by the end, I know I didn't do much. We have those treadmills with the fans, and the first thing I do when I get started is turn them off.
You logic is flawed. If it is 30 degrees and you do the same amount of work and are not sweaty and if its 100 and you are its still the same amount of work. Using your logic I could just stand in the sun and if my shirt is soaked in 20 min then I must have worked out for 2 hours.
I was kinda impartial to either way until yesterday. I went to the gym and it was pretty hot. I was doing my normal stuff but sweating more than usual. I keep saying to myself, "my workout isn't this hard, I shouldn't be sweating THIS much!?"
So, I like it comfortable. I sweat alot without much trouble so I don't need heat to help me more. In fact, its hard for me to gauge how hard my workout is.
Plus, I think there is a strong relation with a hot gym and a crappy gym. If you can't keep it somewhat cool in the gym, the gym itself probably sucks. The 24 hour I'm talking about is by far the worst I've been too. There are at least 3 devices (benches/machines/pulleys) broken any given day. I wanted to do decline bench press which is my favorite chest workout...the spot where you put your legs is on the ground with a broken sign, awesome.
I bet if using fans became "in style" all of a sudden you would love fans. It is just whatever the fad is at the time for a lot of people.
