I'd bite my tongue before I really said what I thought the correct age was.
Yep. There's a woman I work with who is 42, I think. She's always posting pictures of herself up on Facebook, and sometimes I look at the photos and think she looks her age, and sometimes I think she looks 10-15 years older. But I'd never tell her she looked like she was 50-55 years old!
People usually knock off several years before they say what they actually think. They don't want to risk insulting someone. ...
Placing someone as older than their age is awkward. It's a couple notches down on the list from asking a woman her due date, only to discover she isn't pregnant.
I subtract at least a decade from what I perceive as someone's real age and save us both the embarrassment.
I think it's silly to expect people to guess, but if asked I try to make the best of it.
I guess I look around my age (29). Most people seem to guess I'm 26 or 27. Although I look older in my driver's license picture taken when I was 18 when I was obese and had a moustache. I've slimmed down a lot since then and I now dislike facial hair.
No. I've been repeatedly told over the past 12 months by new folks I met that I look much younger than my late 30s age. I was even told not too long ago by a woman who is 30 that I didn't even look 30. "Youngest" guess I got was 25.
The results of working out, eating healthy, abstaining from drugs, never smoking, drinking in moderation, and having a relatively low-stress work situation.
People are always going to guess (out loud) that you're younger than you look. I was talking to a woman the other day and we were talking about age and I guessed in my head that she was 65, but to be on the safe side I said 58 and she was really 61.
People always express shock when I say I'm 48, but I take it with a grain of salt.
