^^ Land speed records are generally associated with vehicles that are run on a salt flat or lake bed in a straight line, not on a track. The link should probably have been worded differently.

I agree with your comments above. I just had a problem with the wording of land speed record. I, too am well aware of SCTA cars as I've spent a lot of time at El Mirage and Bonnevile crewing for this guy.
