I saw this episode of Top Gear a few days ago. Pretty awesome but the Veyron's extra 450hp work wonders in fighting wind resistance.

I was amazed that the F1 kept up so well though until those high triple digit numbers.

I think weight contributes greatly to its low speed performance but after a while the extra ponies win the race.
