Default Fairbanks

I've lived in Alaska 3 times and the favorite place to be is Fairbanks. It's just the right size city. The last time I was there was about a year ago. Just for a visit to see if that was in-fact my final destination for early retirement.

The place looks like a ghost town, since most of the population is in Iraq, and when they return back to the U.S., most will be joining their wives in the lower 48. That means plenty of jobs and homes (maybe).

The oil fiasco this past couple weeks will resolve itself and things will be back to normal.

What I really enjoy about Fairbanks is the fact that it sits in a bowl, surrounded by small mountains on one side, and most weather problems are outside the city area. Yes...cold as can be, but tolerable. I walked to work every morning approximately 1.5 miles in temperatures down to -25 degrees sometimes. And when it got up to the +20's, I was sweating....

Yes...Fairbanks is a great choice for a place to live. And the ladies are very pretty, and I'm gonna find me one.
