I am sure you all are hurting because I am hurting down here, and I'm paying $0.50 less per gallon that you folks are. See, I'm planning on a truck for my next vehicle, but this is one of those times when I'm glad I don't have one! My little Honda keeps me fairly well protected from the gas prices since I'm getting upwards of 27 mpg around town and 33-35 on the interstate. Still though...

North Pole fuel prices today:

Regular unleaded $4.28 per gallon
Diesel Fuel $4.47

By the way, there are a lot of trucks for sale on the Alaska list and other places, perhaps because it's getting too expensive for a tank-full each week. Also, there are a lot of people moving out of Alaska, specially those on fixed incomes who have to pay for heating fuel and other expenses. Heating fuel should be nearing $3.90 per gallon (I paid $3.85 per gallon nearly two weeks ago).

According to what I was listening to on a KFAR radio show, some people are moving because the cost of living is just too high in comparison to their income, so it's more convenient to move-in with relatives in the lower-48 (or even in Alaska) where all can help each other with their expenses. This works very well with people on fixed incomes (pensions, for example), since their pension goes to wherever they go.

I would not be surprised of $4.65 per gallon by July.

Gas prices in the middle of Alaska are cheaper than many places here in the Bay Area. That's so F'd.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but where does the gas in Alaska come from? Is it all locally drilled or imported from other places or the middle east?

$4.37 for regular unleaded, and $4.55 for diesel in North Pole.

By the way, take a look at the list of used trucks for sale around Squarebanks. It's growing, and growing...by the day.
