Tatalina River Area about 50 miles North of Fairbanks. Still mostly green, but the yellow is definitely starting to show. A few more days and fall will be in full swing. Fortunately the smoke didn't make it that far up there either.

Scouting for moose, MR. Whisperer?

I just set-up my campsite yesterday (Sat.). It was raining all day, and going through the mud on my ATV got mud balls from my boots to my eyebrows. Kept my lips shut tightly all the way, just in case But every now and then the sky cleared, so I had a great time out there. My hunting partner arrived to the campsite a couple of hours later, and later we picked a bunch of blueberries on our way out. Didn't see moose, nor bears, nor birds, just lots of blueberry-looking bear crap on the trail.

Did Mr. Moose take his privately owned whirlybird along with his privately owned security team and go looking for a place to drill baby drill? Or was it nothing more than an aerial hunt for common shrew?

I think Mr. Moose was scouting for moose. He probably has his campsite ready to go, and his hunting spot (S) by the trails leading to the lake in the photo

No, just routine Security fly-overs looking out for yahoos taking pot shots at the Pipe (among other things).

Better hope they don't take a pot shot at you or it will be "moose down"
