Most of the dogs on such races are Husky, or Husky mixes. Labs are perhaps the friendlies to people in general. Huskies are friendly, too. They just look mean when running, but in real life they aren't. Some may be cranky, but most will lick you to death if you get your face near

On the international races that take place every few years, the Europeans bring some other dog breeds. These dogs are tall and slim, and have a very thin layer of hair and fur. Must be keep warm with dog blankets or jackets while racing, unless it's not very cold outside.

Yea, they will kill you wagging their tails against your leg. 99.94% of labs are super friendly.

Their tails are fearsome. For that reason alone Lag owners, like owners, like pit bull owners, should carry liability insurance.

The use that long tail for balance as they run. Huskies love running, and can burn over 10,000 calories per day.

The reference to tails was to Labs, who use their tails as attack weapons.

This one is a Siberian Retriever (Husky/Lab mix). Very playful, and a long tail. Her name is Nikki, and is around 17 months old:
