Ok. So I am just curious, so I figured this would probably be the best place to ask these questions(if it isn’t then a mod could always move this thread to the appropriate location),

So my questions are the following

1. When do people in the Fairbanks Alaska area generally start any sort of gardening outdoors?

2. How long generally is Fairbanks’ growing season in during which there is low risk of losing cultivated plants to adverse weather patterns?

3. What do people in the Fairbanks Alaska area tend to cultivate in terms of ornamental plants(grasses trees and shrubs) and fruits or vegetables?

Please give all your expertise advice based on your personal experience and observations, all answers relating to this thread’s topic of discussion are welcome.

Found these information sources using a Google search in about 10 seconds OP. A couple of good starting places with book suggestions. The Agricultural Extension service through UAF has helpful leaflets and information too.

It is definitely a challenge! Climate change is making the seasons more erratic and unpredictable these days.
