My family and i are wanting to move to fairbanks what i am wondering is are there plumbing jobs up there i currently am the managing partner of a small company (ie) 6 trucks in oklahoma city i started this company 9 yrs ago and i'm a little bored looking for a change been to alaska before and loved it always wanted to move back and i see this as my chance if anyone has any advice or leads on a job i would appreciate it my wife will also be looking for work she is a dental asst.

There are a lot of plumbers around Fairbanks, some without work. You may want to check with some of the local unions and see what they have to say, since these plumbers are inline waiting for jobs. You want to have a job first, before you move, unless you have enough cash to travel back home if you don't find work. Employment is not really that hot at the moment, and construction during the summer is predicted to go down. However, don't give up and keep on filing job applications. Sometimes the school districts hire workers, specially certified ones (CT1 -CT3).

If you have a good work ethic, you more than likely can find work, but always have a backup plan to get back home if it don't work out.
