If I bought a house for about 75-85k in Fargo, where would be the best/safest area for the house to be located at? Also, I would like to be somewhat near (20 min commute) to the Airport. Thanks for your help!

75-85k probably won't buy you much of a house in Fargo. However, the good news is, unless you live in extreme South Fargo, you can get to the airport in 20 minutes from pretty much any other part of town, including West Fargo.

For that money you will likely get an older house that will need a fair amount of upkeep or you'll be in the flood plain, thus the hefty price of flood insurance. I looked at a wonderful, cute, old house for 71,000 but it was on the flood plain. I bought mine for 91,000 (Built in 1899, but in GREAT shape) so a house in your range is out there ... you'll just need A LOT of paitence. Good luck and welcome to Fargo.
