I'm single, 22, new job, new town, would like an area with activity but safe. The downtown area with the cityscapes and a few other apartment buildings appear newer, nice and have essential heated parking. Am I overlooking other active and better areas? Do the trains nearby wake everyone up, and what might I need to be weary of in these or other locations? Your replies are appreciated.

From my understanding Fargo downtown trains dont sound horns as they are in a quiet zone. Not to say otherwise there isnt noise from them, but horn blasting isnt one of them. I live about 70 miles north of Fargo, but do visit the area frequently, but not a lot downtown. With kids we stick to the zoo, mall area, etc. Therefore I cannot vouch for downtown living and how it is.
