Tanning is sun damage.

Tanning is hurting yourself.
In the same vein, one could well ask the question of why women have babies, its painful and leaves all kinds of things swollen.....and disfigured.

People don't otherwise injure themselves if they are normal so why this?

As most women know...beauty hurts. A great deal. If I want to go through the pain of a tatt...that's on me.

It's funny how people judge others on having tattoos. I saw an article the other day. People with over 10 (not sure on number...higher than 10) tatoos is dangerous/criminals.

Yeah, plucking your eyebrows or waxing that bikini line hurts - moreso than getting a tattoo or piercing, in my opinion.

Sorry, but in this case your comparison is very weak being apples to oranges.

The sun is a normal thing in all of our lives so the body will tan to protect the skin. Tattoo's don't protect anything.....they only injure the skin.

Procreation is a natural event necessary to preseve the species. Tattoo's are a choice.

I'm not talking about "hey look, the sun's out today and I'm wearing a tank top" tanning. I'm talking "I have a membership at the local tanning bed and my skin looks like leather" tanning.

There is more than enough data to support this supposition.

No, no there is not.

It's called profiling, and it's pathetic.
