Someone has obviously never seen a pair of nice false eyelashes put to good use, and that's probably because they can look VERY natural. Would you be surprised to know that false eyelashes are common on TV and in movies? And pretty much EVERY makeup commercial, whether or not it's for mascara.
Sorry but up close they don't look natural at all. And I wasn't talking about people in the commercials/TV etc but rather the people I meet in real life. I almost instantly know that they are FAKE.
Sorry but this means something wasn't right. If they really looked naturally yours, she wouldn't have asked.
It's funny how people think they are getting away with using beauty enhancements, like false eyelashes, boobs, hair extentions, or toupees. Just because nobody stops to ask the tacky question, "is your _____ real?", doesn't mean we don't notice something that looks fake or lame.

Of course it doesn't look natural up close, but why would you be inspecting someone's face like that? If they're done right, they look quite natural. If they aren't done right, they don't look natural.

I should post a picture of my sisters eyelashes...they look ridiculously, almost comically fake...and they're completely real. They almost reach her eyebrows and even without mascara, she still looks like she's wearing it.
I got the boobs, she got the eyelashes in the family....
Oh, now that I'm done laughing at some of these entries (not the true discussions, mostly the lists), I'll add a few of my own:
Crocs - unless you're at the beach or work in a medical setting
Ed Hardy - don't get this at all, think Jon Gosselin ruined it for everyone
Uggs - y'all have covered this already
Muffin top jeans on young women - I know you're probably a smaller size than I am but you look huge with your spare tire. I swear I didn't think otherwise reasonably small women had spare tires...but you do!
Mandals - not a big fan of bare feet. Definitely not a fan of feet that aren't maintained. It's called lotion....if you have skin, consider using some!
Flip flops everywhere! You do know that when you walk with flip flops on city streets, your feet are exposed to all sorts of nastiness. Ick.
And my two beauty pet peeves that I will never get:
Squared off fake nails - They come in more natural shapes, you know. Men generally don't care what your nails look like so you're looking so, um, squared off just for other women.
French pedicures - I sort of get french manicures [as long as they're not squared off :-)] but french pedicures, not so much. Long toenails aren't that attractive. French pedicures give the illusion of long toenails. Ick to this too.
Of course it doesn't look natural up close, but why would you be inspecting someone's face like that? If they're done right, they look quite natural. If they aren't done right, they don't look natural.
When someone is up close to your face, no inspection is needed really. You can almost instantly tell if something doesn't look right on their faces.

Lucky you ..
