What do you all think about the idea of dressing your age? Do you think that there are certain things that people of certain ages should never wear? Just for an example, is there an age at which miniskirts, regardless of body type, should not be worn? If so, what are some examples and what are the "cutoff ages" for these things. Or do you feel that is doesn't matter what age you are as long as you have the body to pull it off? Discuss....

I think of the movie "Mean Girls" With the gal from "notebook" mom. When she says, "Hey girls what's up? What is the 411, you girls want drinks?"

Hm... The other day I watched "I'm hotter than my daughter" and moms there were creepy, almost streetwalker style. So yes, sometimes it's good to dress your age, but other times people overreact. Some people were criticizing Jennifer Aniston because she "wasn't in her 20's anymore" but I think she looks great.

I guess it depends

I say wear what you want. You only live once. Who cares what others think. Look at the gals from Sex and the City. They can pull off any look. As long as you wear things with confidence, are classy (not trashy), and know what looks best on your body, I say rock it. OH, also find sizes that fit you correctly! That is a huge one.

I do think there are some things that are inappropriate after a certain age. I wince when I see cougar moms in sparkly velour tracksuits with JUICY on their butts, or PINK. You're not in a sorority, ladies. It's entirely possible to look sexy while dressing "your age." In fact, being a bit older can help you pull off the sophistication and elegance that a teenager does not have. Work what you have, not what you wish you still had.

Competing with your own daughter is just gross.

I think someone should dress however they want, as long as it's appropriate for the situation that they're in (i.e. not wearing hot pants at a PTA meeting). And of course, provided that they work to maintain their body image by working out so that whatever they wear doesn't look nasty.

Generally, I think most of the things that I would say are totally out for ladies past a certain age, I also really don't like to even see young ones wearing. There are probably some exceptions but I can't think of any right now....

I'm in my mid-30s and I still buy some of my shirts from the junior section.

Well, that's true. I don't like track pants with words on the butt EVER.
