Are any of you guys into retro sneakers? I picked up a pair of old school Pumas a few weeks ago and I love them. I wore these sneakers all through high school and college, but I haven't had a pair of them in 20+ years. Putting them on definitely brings back a nostalgic feeling.

Converse All-Stars seem to be back in style ... again ... I had them in the 60s, and a pair of hot pink high tops in the 80s.

These Pumas are actually from the 1970s and they carried over into the 1980s.

I wore different variations of these sneakers (the Suede and the leather Basket) through high school and college. They were my favorite sneaker for a long time, but then they faded from popularity and I started wearing Nike, New Balance, Reebok, etc.

I haven't had a pair of these old school Pumas in at least 20 years.

They're surprisingly comfortable to walk around in. I'm a runner and I wouldn't use them for running, but I've walked quite a bit in them.

I wore them to an appointment with a foot doctor today, and he immediately noticed them and we spent about ten minutes talking about them and how he used to wear the same sneaker when he was in high school. Pretty cool to get that kind of positive attention.

Yes, I remember when they were called the Clydes. I guess they lost the rights to use that name, so they now just call them the Suede.

The Basket from back then is still called the Basket. Same shoe as the Clyde/Suede, only in leather. I really like them both. When the Suedes wear out, I may pick up a pair of the Baskets. I used to go back and forth between them in high school and college.

Love old school sneakers! I have Asics Ontisukas in the Mexico 66 style in a few different colors and some 1960s style Tretorns. I don't own any sneakers that don't look like throwbacks. I like your Pumas; Adidas also just came out with a retro-styled black and white sneaker for men.

I think I've had at least one pair of Chuck Taylors in my shoe rotation since about 1987, when I was in the fifth grade. Right now, I've got a high-topped pair that are green and embroidered with white eyelet stitching, and a low-top suede pair in chocolate brown with the star and chevron logo. The only other retro sneakers I wear are Vans, but I like the fit of Converse better.

I had the Adidas also way back, only in blue, with the white stripes. I've been tempted to get a pair of them, but I have enough sneakers now as it is, with the running shoes I have. Maybe when these Pumas wear out, I can try either the Adidas, or the Puma Basket, the leather version of what I have.
