The short-sleeved cardigans that have been cropping up the past couple of seasons where I live are now out in full force. I was initially skeptical of the practicality of a short-sleeved cardigan, but am starting to warm up to them, have not yet purchased any. Was curious as to what other thought of them?
It really depends on the knit and the weight. I've seen some folks wearing them over long sleeves (which I wouldn't have thought about) and they look okay. I have some but have only worn them over sleeveless or short-sleeve since I have to follow a dress code (sigh).
And just 'ugh' on long sleeves under a short-sleeved cardigan. Been there ... done that ... Why is it the stuff that was in fashion when I was younger (in this case, early 70s) is so butt ugly to me now?
I loved that then and now. LOL It makes your top half look slim and shapely.
But it had to be the right combo. I like them just worn like a sweater with a tank or shell underneath. This time of year sometimes heating in buildings is just too hot for full sleeves. But too cold for short sleeves.

It seems to be in this season, and I'm not a fan, either. I've seen a bunch of short sleeved jackets and coats and sweaters that you're supposed to wear with long sleeves under, but I think it looks awkward.
I just bought one. For me, it's a nice thing because our fall weather is so unpredictable. It gives an added dimension to my outfit without adding a layer of heat during the day. I hadn't thought to wear it with long sleeves...still not sure about that....but for now the weather is fluctuating from 50-80 deg so it's kind of nice.
