Do any of you know of a successful way to get gray jeans black again?
I have a pair of Miss Me jeans that were originally black but have now faded to gray Have any of you tried dying your faded black jeans in a pot with black rit dye? Did it work? Do you have to keep re-dying them every few times you wash them?

Thanks.

I've re-dyed faded black sweaters with Rit dye in the washing machine. You need to use 2 packages of the dye, as I recall, or you won't get it dark enough. I haven't washed either of the sweaters since dying them, though, because I was afraid they'd fade again....

With jeans, you can try turning them inside out when you wash them to prevent fading. And use that Woolite detergent for dark fabrics. Also, I remember reading somewhere to wash things with vinegar in the washing machine if you don't want them to fade.

If you use rit dye everything will be black, everything, threading and all, very black and uniform so no wash or rinse will be left.
